Orchha is a famous tourist place in the Tikamghar District of Madhya Pradesh state. It was founded in the 15th century by the Bundela Rajput Chief, Rudra Pratap Singh, who also built the Fort of Orchha.

Orchha Fort, surrounded by a battlement wall is situated on the bank of River Betwa. The fort consists of several connected buildings built by different rulers. Most renowned are the Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal.

The city has numerous ancient temples and cenotaphs or chhatris representing royal glory and the architectural skills of craftsmen of different times.
