Goa

Goa is a small state located in the Konkan region, bound between the borders of Maharashtra and Karnataka, and Arabian Sea in the west. The coastline of Goa covers about 128 km. Portuguese ruled Goa for 450 years until it was annexed by India in 1961. Portuguese cultural influence is clearly visible in the old cities of the state.

Goa is famous for its diverse beaches, ancient monuments, mouthwatering Konkani cuisine, and places of worship. Tourism is its primary source of economy and it’s also the best party place known in India. Goa is also called “Miami of India”. One can rent a bike or a car to explore the numerous tourist destinations scattered all over the State. Its serene beaches with throbbing parties, adventurous water sports, cruise parties, magnificent landscape, open discotheques, ancient forts, temples and churches make it the most popular tourist destination of India.

The Churches and convents of Goa have been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. It was ranked the best-placed state and for the best quality of life. It’s also said to be one of the richest states of India.
