Region - The region is bounded by the Nepal, Bhutan &Sikkim Himalayas. It includes the states West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Orissa and the seven eastern states Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. It also includes the Union Territory Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal.
Overview - The states are heavily forested and have plentiful rainfall. There are beautiful wildlife sanctuaries, tea estates, and mighty rivers like the Brahmaputra. The region is home to one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, and other endangered wildlife.
Food: The Bengal is known for its yummy combination of rice and fish. Usually, Bengalis love eating varieties of fish. If you have a sweet tooth then this is the place for you. Various mouth-watering sweets are prepared by using milk and cream. Some of them are called 'Roshogollas', 'Sandesh', 'Cham-cham', etc.
